Based on high-profile cases and inspired by the career of a pioneering forensic scientist known as the "Sherlock Holmes" of China's criminal investigation field, Traces of Justice follows Cui Xun, who, beginning in the 1970s, works alongside a forensic pathologist and a detective to investigate a succession of serious crimes spanning five decades. With forensic technology still in its infancy, Cui relies on the smallest traces of evidence, including bite marks, fragments and other physical clues, to identify suspects. As the trails begin to emerge, how will they unravel the truth behind four shocking cases that left the nation stunned?
